Fluent Conveyors supplies Dodge Industrial 2-bolt flange bearing units for general replacement and retrofitting applications. Shop flange bearings for compact vertical mounting and light to moderate loads.
Reliable performance for conveyor and industrial applications.
DL, SC, SCM, SL, SLX, SXR, SXRAG, SXV, VSC, and more
Ball bearings (high-speed, moderate loads), tapered roller bearings (combined radial/thrust loads), spherical roller bearings (extreme loads, self-aligning)
Approximately 3/4″ up to 3-7/16″, depending on bearing series
Set screw locking or eccentric locking collar; other Dodge locking options include the Grip Tight concentric clamp collar and tapered adapter sleeve systems
Two bolt holes at 45° rotation (diamond pattern) for vertical mounting. Bolt hole spacing varies by bearing series
Dodge Trident Triple-Lip, QuadGuard, Labyrinth Plus, and Hydra-Seal systems, depending on bearing family and environment.
Cast iron (standard), ductile iron (heavy-duty), stainless steel (corrosive environments), or polymer composite
Factory pre-lubricated with provisions for relubrication (grease fittings)
Available in non-expansion and expansion configurations to accommodate thermal shaft growth; expansion capability varies by shaft size and series
Temperature ratings vary by bearing family, seal, and grease
Standard, light, washdown, backside, foodsafe
Meets or exceeds ABMA and ISO standards for mounted bearings
We carry Dodge flange bearings in other bolt configurations to match your mounting requirements and load conditions:

A 3-bolt triangular pattern distributes mounting forces more evenly than 2-bolt designs while maintaining a relatively compact footprint.
A 4-bolt square flange bearing pattern provides superior load distribution and mounting rigidity for heavy-duty conveyor applications.
on dependable strength.
Dodge Flange bearings deliver measurable advantages that improve your conveyor’s performance and lifespan:

Choose a locking mechanism based on shaft loads, thermal expansion, and maintenance access.

2-bolt flange bearings are available in different housing materials and seal configurations to match operating environments. Select materials and seals based on contamination exposure, temperature extremes, and washdown requirements.
For food processing conveyors, specify thermoplastic housings with food-grade grease (NSF H1 grease). These food and beverage bearings meet sanitary standards and withstand regular washdown cycles without degradation.

Choose flange bearings in space-constrained situations requiring vertical mounting.
Common applications include:
Conveyor head shaft bearing and conveyor tail shaft bearing mounting where horizontal pillow block mounting isn't practical
Idler shaft support for conveyor belt tracking and tensioning systems
Light to medium-duty material handling equipment in manufacturing, packaging, and distribution facilities
Wall or frame mounting applications where mounting surface is vertical
Retrofit installations where space limitations prevent larger bearing configurations
Conveyor frames requiring simple bolt patterns
For heavy-duty applications, upgrade to 3 or 4-bolt configurations for superior load distribution and mounting rigidity. Protect bearings with bearing guards in contaminated environments.
Relubricate bearings through zerk fitting every 2,000–4,000 operating hours in clean environments. Increase frequency to 500–1,000 hours in dusty or wet conditions.
During lubrication, inspect the contact seal or metal shield for damage or deterioration. Replace damaged seals immediately to prevent contamination.
Check mounting bolt tightness monthly for the first three months, then quarterly. Vibration can loosen bolts over time.
Monitor bearing operating temperature during inspections. Temperatures exceeding the temperature rating indicate lubrication, loading, or alignment problems.

Flange bearing size is determined by load requirements, shaft diameter, mounting surface dimensions, conveyor speed, and environmental conditions. To figure out which flange bearing you need, follow these steps:
Dodge bearings come in more sizes than most competitors, so you can find an exact match for your vertical mounting application.

Fluent designs and manufactures custom conveyors for recycling, aggregate, manufacturing, and other heavy industries. When you source 2-bolt flange bearings through Fluent, you're working with engineers who specify, install, and maintain these components every day.
