Flange bearings for

Identify the shaft type: Determine if your conveyor uses a round bore or a hex bore bearing.

Measure the bore: For a round bore, use calipers to measure the inside diameter directly across the bore. For a hex bore, place the calipers in one corner, skip a corner, and measure across to the next corner (leaving one corner in between).

Match standard sizes: Compare your measurement to common flange bearing sizes. Dodge flange bearings are available in shaft sizes from 1-1/8" to 5", depending on the series and bolt configuration.

Determine bolt configuration: Assess your mounting surface and load requirements to select between 2-bolt, 3-bolt, or 4-bolt flange bearings.

Verify mounting dimensions: Measure your mounting surface bolt hole spacing and flange thickness to ensure compatibility with the selected bearing. Piloted flange bearings require a machined pilot bore for precise alignment.

Evaluate application needs: Dodge flange bearings are available with inserts optimized for your specific load, speed, and application requirements. Decide whether you need expansion or non-expansion capability to accommodate thermal shaft growth.
