Radial stacker pivot arms, package handling center drives
ASME/ANSI B29.1-compliant sprockets; see ANSI sprockets
in demanding conveyor applications.
Radial stacker conveyors pivot around a fixed point to build stockpiles of bulk material across a wide arc. The pivoting mechanism is what this ANSI chain drives. A motor and gearbox transmit torque through the ANSI chain and sprocket assembly to rotate the stacker arm, positioning the discharge point across the stockpile radius.
The ANSI chain in a radial stacker drives the swivel, not the conveyor. The conveyor belt is driven by a separate system, whether that's engineering-class roller chain on a roller chain conveyor, a pulley-and-belt system on a trough idler or flat idler stacker, or any other configuration.

Package handling conveyors are sometimes configured with a center drive rather than a head or tail drive, positioning the motor and drivetrain mid-conveyor to balance belt tension across the carrying and return runs. In these configurations, we use ANSI chain to transmit torque from the motor and gearbox output shaft to the conveyor's drive shaft. Center drive setups are common in long conveyor runs and in distribution and logistics applications where starting tension and belt sag are carefully managed across the full conveyor length.

The ANSI chain we supply for replacement is the same as the chain we specify for conveyor builds every day. Whether you’re servicing a Fluent conveyor or shopping for retrofit options, our product selection is informed by years of manufacturing experience.
