Determine if your conveyor uses a round bore or a hex bore bearing.

For a round bore, use calipers to measure the inside diameter directly across the bore. For a hex bore, place the calipers in one corner, skip a corner, and measure across to the next corner (leaving one corner in between).

Compare your measurement to common flange bearing sizes. Dodge flange bearings are available in shaft sizes from 1-1/8" to 5", depending on the series and bolt configuration.

Assess your mounting surface and load requirements to select between 2-bolt (compact, light to moderate loads), 3-bolt (triangular pattern, moderate loads), or 4-bolt (maximum strength, heavy-duty applications) flange bearings.
