Fluent supplies Oil-Rite 24V DC electric oilers for roller chain conveyors. Solenoid-activated automatic lubrication integrates into 24V DC control circuits in single-feed and multi-feed configurations. For Fluent systems and retrofit installations.

Motor contactor wiring (24V DC)
Wire the solenoid coil in parallel with the motor contactor coil. Lubrication activates when the conveyor starts and cuts when it stops, with no additional relay or timer required for basic operation. Current draw is low enough for direct connection through existing 24V DC control circuits. Unlike 120-volt AC electric oilers, no upstream line voltage tap and no transformer are required.
The solenoid housing includes a 1/2" NPT conduit entry for hardwired installations.

24V DC solenoid valves connect to standard PLC digital outputs (sourcing or sinking). Wire the solenoid output in the same rung as the drive enable signal for motor-tied operation, or use timer function blocks for programmable lubrication intervals and intermittent duty cycles. This also enables interlocking with safety circuits or emergency stops without auxiliary relay hardware.
24V DC oilers are a natural fit for VFD-controlled motors. Source the solenoid from the VFD's internal 24V DC supply or external DC bus, and wire activation through VFD auxiliary run contacts or a PLC output. No line-voltage tap upstream of the drive is needed. See the electric auto oiler installation guide for complete procedures.
For variable duty-cycle applications where continuous activation delivers excess oil, wire the solenoid through a 24V DC timer relay for adjustable ON/OFF cycle intervals. Specify the relay rated for the solenoid's DC coil draw.

Single-feed oilers supply one lubrication point from one reservoir (suited to single-chain conveyors) or concentrated lubrication zones. At 10 drops per minute, a 1-gal reservoir supports approximately 110 operating hours before refill.
Multi-feed models (2–24 outlets) distribute oil from a central reservoir to independent brush positions via a modular stacking valve system. Add or remove feeds in the field without replacing the oiler body. Multi-feed oilers are best for wide conveyors (>48" chain centers), multiple parallel chains, or distributed zones on heavy-duty and extreme heavy-duty roller chain conveyors.
Reservoir materials and temperature ranges
Acrylic (standard): Shatterproof, transparent, −20°F to 160°F. Universal fit for recycling, waste processing, and most industrial applications. Clean view design eliminates the center tie rod for unobstructed fluid visibility; universal fitting allows capacity swaps without replacing the valve body.
Pyrex (glass): Up to 225°F for zones near heat sources or poorly ventilated enclosures.
Polycarbonate: Up to 120°F with better impact resistance than Pyrex for high-vibration mounting or mobile equipment.
Any acrylic reservoir in the 1/2-gal or 1-gal size can be equipped with an optional magnetically actuated float switch that monitors fluid level and triggers a warning signal or conveyor stop when oil drops below a set point. Recommended for any installation running continuous multi-shift operations where visual checks between shifts are not guaranteed.
Specify nondetergent petroleum-based oil (Detergent additives disrupt penetration into pin-bushing clearances).
SAE viscosity by ambient temperature:
SAE 10 for cold environments (−20°F to +80°F)
SAE 20 for moderate climates (+10°F to +110°F)
SAE 30 for warm (+20°F to +130°F)
SAE 40 for hot (+30°F to +140°F)
SAE 50 for high-temperature operations (+40°F to +150°F)
Anti-foaming additives prevent air entrainment that disrupts drip-rate delivery. Antioxidant additives resist oil breakdown in elevated-temperature service zones. EP additives form a protective film under shock loading.
