and maximizes efficiency.
The rubber discs flex as the belt moves across them, creating a self-cleaning action that releases sticky materials, clay, fines, and wet aggregates that would otherwise build up on steel return idlers.
Gaps between the discs allow released material to fall away rather than accumulating. This design reduces material buildup on the return idlers, protects the belt cover from abrasion, and improves belt tracking by preventing uneven loading caused by carryback.

Sticky materials like clay, wet sand, or fines
Fine grain or powdery materials
Mining, waste processing, aggregate, dredging, or bulk material handling operations
Portable conveyors that handle multiple materials
High dust and moisture conditions
In most cases, you can provide the brand and part number of the disc return idler you're replacing to get a match. If that's not an option, follow these steps to identify the right disc return idler for your conveyor application:
When in doubt, contact Fluent with photos of your existing idlers, belt width, material type, and application details. Our engineering team can verify specifications and recommend a disc return idler configuration for your conveyor.

Fluent rubber disc idlers contain industry-leading seals on all CEMA configurations.
