The indicator receives continuous weight signals from belt scale load cells and calculates real-time throughput rates. The PLC uses that data to regulate belt speed, trigger diverters, and log production totals. NTEP-certified configurations support legal-for-trade billing and custody transfer applications.
In batching systems, the indicator delivers weight values to the PLC, which executes the fill sequence, opening and closing gates, sequencing material drops, and managing tolerance windows. The indicator does not run the batch logic; it provides the measurement that the PLC acts on.
The IND360's 480 Hz update rate supports in-motion and checkweighing applications where product moves across the scale during measurement. All control logic, including accept/reject decisions, diverter timing, and conveyor speed adjustment, runs in the PLC. Fluent-supplied IND360 terminals are configured with Industrial Ethernet for PLC integration; the Mettler Toledo Dynamic throughput application is not included in the standard configuration.
We provide Mettler Toledo automation drivers for all major PLC platforms: an EDS file for Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, a GSDML file for Siemens, and an ESI file for Beckhoff. These allow the PLC to discover and map the indicator as a native device on the fieldbus.
Fluent builds conveyor control panels and programs the PLC logic that interfaces with these indicators. Whether the application is a belt scale feeding throughput data to a SCADA system or an in-motion checkweigher triggering a pneumatic diverter, Fluent handles the panel wiring, network configuration, PLC programming, and indicator commissioning.
The IND360 carries NTEP certification for legal-for-trade applications in the United States and OIML approval for international use, covering Class II (100,000d), Class III, and Class IIIL applications. Additional certifications include UL/cUL, CE, FCC, and China legal metrology. For installations in classified areas, the IND360 is rated for Zone 2/22 and Division 2 environments.
