Apron pan conveyor belts are made of overlapping steel pans that mount to heavy-duty chains to form the conveying surface. The double-beaded pan geometry creates a tight conveying surface that resists spillage between pans, absorbs impact, and withstands high-temperature materials.
Apron pan belts handle heavy, large, or abrasive materials in demanding industrial environments, from sheared scrap and slag in recycling and foundry operations to large components in manufacturing facilities. Compared to other roller chain belt types, the apron pan provides the best impact absorption for high-impact infeed applications and holds fines better than Z-pan belts. For powders and fine materials where a fully sealed surface is required, rubber combination belts remain the best choice.
Apron pan is one of two belt types compatible with Fluent's Extreme Heavy-Duty (X-HD) roller chain conveyors, alongside Z-pan.

Recommended for heavy-duty continuous service and abrasive materials. The shallow profile is the workhorse choice for sustained throughput of sheared scrap, slag, and aggregates.

Recommended for large-capacity handling, hot materials, and inclined conveying. The deeper pan absorbs large-lump impact and retains material on incline runs.
